Shenanigans's schedule of weekly classes is now up and we're registering for fall! We're an applied improvisational theatre program for adolescents, teens, and adults with Asperger's, HFA, PDD-NOS, and others with social communication challenges. Through the games and exercises of improv theatre, we learn to listen and see what's going on around us and use those cues to interact more fully and in context. Because improv is spontaneous in nature, we also increase our ability to think flexibly and accept unexpected change.
This fall we've got three different offerings and several locations around the metro area: our "traditional" improv theatre program for tweens, teens, and adults; our new Code Breakers program for motivated older teens and young adults in transition; and Say YES Performing Arts program for middle and high schoolers (in partnership with Music Therapy Services of Greater Atlanta.)

Why should the kids have all the fun? Starting Jan 13, we'll be having a weekly parents class at the Alpharetta Recreation Center to learn the games and activities of improvisational theatre so that we can learn some more tools to engage our children in fun activities that can improve their social communication skills and flexible thinking. This will be a great time to gather with like-minded parents for some laughter, friendship, good ideas...and did I mention FUN?! Absolutely no experience needed - just come prepared to have a great time!
Alpharetta Community Center , 175 Roswell St, Alpharetta 30009. Cost: $165 for 6 wks.
